The Grenfell branch were very excited to receive a large donation from the Garden Club after the Open Gardens weekend, at which Red Cross catered for lunch and morning and afternoon teas.
Proceeds from the December Red Cros street stall went to the Myanmar appeal. For Christmas, we were able to send a parcel to a Grenfell person in the Armed Forces who was serving overseas. It was great to hear that it had arrived safely and in time, and that it was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated.
At present, Grenfell branch is doing "Red Cross Calling", which is a collection Australia-wide in March. There will be three stalls on Thursdays during the month in the main street. Thanks to all who will visit the stall during this time.
Sadly, our good member, Margaret Whitty, passed away last November. We are missing Margaret, as she was such a willing and helpful worker.
Meals on Wheels is on for Red Cross on March 12 to 18 - many thanks to our happy deliverers.
The next meeting of Grenfell Red Cross is on March 23 at 2pm in the Melyra Street meeting room.
It doesn't take long and a cup of tea follows with a time to chat.
Red Cross is not only for women (that was when all the men were away at the war) and new members are most welcome.
