Our Biggest Morning Tea was very well attended and raised $767 for the Cancer Council to help with research and support.
Thank you to Weddin Community Native Nursery for providing the venue, raffle prizes and serving tea and coffee the weather gods were kind.
Thank you also to the generosity of the businesses in Grenfell and Young: Chrome Boutique, Tin Cupboard, The Natural Home, Kin Broomby, Criterion Hotel, Grenfell Shoes, Meals on Wheels, Information centre, Grenfell Library, Scope Clothing, IGA, The Conron Store, Farm and Fable, Wild Child, Jan Parlett, Grenfell Pharmacy, Lachlan Fertilizers, Micks Bakery, Coronation Collectables and Bunnings at Young.
The Mother's Day Stall raised $327 which will help fund the 60th Anniversary Celebrations in July.
Thank you to the members who helped out on the day and donated items for sale.
Special thanks to Kathy Day for the stunning floral arrangements, to Eunice and Ron Huckel for the lovely potted plants and Bunnings at Young and Patina Gallery for raffle prizes.
Also a big shout out to Pam Livingstone and Sheree and Graham Pattrick for letting me raid their Protea flowers.
Preparations are underway for the club's 60th Anniversary on July 2, cost will be $45 and it will be a Christmas luncheon at the Grenfell Country Club. Guests will include Garden Clubs of Australia Officials and previous members of the club. Express your interest and pay by July 18.
The next meeting of the Grenfell Garden Club will be held in the garden of Claudia Sterling at 2pm on June 4, 80 River Park Drive Cowra.
Guest speaker will be Stephen Pereira from Landcare talking about endangered species and a speaker from the Weddin Community Native Nursery will show and suggest what to plant in our gardens. Members and interested persons meet at Grenfell Railway at 1pm to car pool. Look forward to seeing you there.
