The announcement was made on Facebook with the unanimous decision influenced by the ongoing COVID-19 situation in NSW.
"The Grenfell P.A.H & I Association wish to advise the cancellation of the 144th Grenfell Show in its proposed format," the post on the Grenfell Show Facebook page said.
"At a meeting held on 19 July 2021, the committee unanimously voted that the 2021 Grenfell Show due to be held on 3 and 4 September 2021 be cancelled in its current format as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic."
According to the post the unpredictability of the ongoing situation in NSW there was no other choice but to cancel the 2021 Show.
"Given the ongoing and evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our community, volunteers and participants is our priority," the post read.
"We need to comply with the NSW Government health orders as well as consider the potential financial implications for our Show Society, entrants and participants.
"Whilst this is disappointing news for our community, we maintain a positive outlook and will continue to pursue the aims and objectives of the Show Society."
However, locals shouldn't rule the show out completely with the committee assessing if they are able to have some aspects of the event in a different manner.
"We are looking at alternatives to deliver some aspects of the Show to the community over the coming months."
The committee also wished to thank the community for its understanding in making the decision.
"Thank you to our wonderful members, valued sponsors, volunteers and vendors for your patience and understanding.
"We will look forward to a brighter 2022."
