The motion was considered at the March 2021 meeting and resolved to submit an application to the Regional Events Acceleration Fund.
The Tilma Group Pty Ltd were requested to provide a quote to submit the grant funding application on Council's behalf.
The quote of $1,386 (GST Inc) was subsequently received and accepted.
"I approached the Tilma Group and they have put a quote in and it is very reasonable, so I accepted that," Weddin Shire Council General Manager Glen Carroll said.
"They will put that (the application) in about mid-June once they have a clearer direction on which way the Festival is going and what they can apply for."
Mr Carroll proposed that the funding for the application be sourced at the September 2021 Quarterly Budget Review.
As the fund is ongoing until December 2021 or until the funds are exhausted it is the Tilma Group's intention to submit the application in June 2021 when the strategic review and plan are nearly completed whereby a vision for the future direction of the Festival be ascertained to inform the grant funding application.
Mr Carroll said that the application and the Tilma group's involvement was a very good thing not only for the Festival but for the Weddin community.
The motion was moved by Cr Brown and seconded by Cr McKellar.
Members of the Tilma Group have also been appointed to conduct a review of the festival and are in town thi week, conducting a community consultation forum at the Grenfell Bowling Club last night.
Council general manager Glenn Carroll recently last month held a meeting with Linda Tillman and Belinda Power to assist Ms Tillman in gaining an understanding and appreciation of the operations and history of the Festival.
Whilst in Grenfell this week Members of the Tilma Group, in addition to meeting with the public, are expected to hold a Councillor workshop as well as meetings with The Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival of Arts Committee.
The Tilma Group review is expected to be completed by June 30.
