Round twelve of the men's Autumn competition was played on Tuesday evening 20th April with some very close scores, Ringo Walker and Rod Fruedenstein were on top with a score of 20 games their sets were 4-4,5-3,5-3,6-2,they were followed closely by Graham Watt and Pat Hazell with 19 games their sets being 5-3,4-4,7-1,3-5,next was Grant Fisher and Arnold Brown on 18 games and their sets were 7-1,4-4,5-3,2-6, then there was Leigh Taylor filling in for Stuart McKellar and John Richens with 12 games and Rick Power and John Walmsley with 11 games.
This was the final of the Autumn competition and the winners were:
A grade: Grant Fisher with a total score of 191 games just ahead of Graham Watt with a total of 181 games congratulations Grant.
B grade: Rod Freudenstein with a total of 244 games well ahead of Arnold Brown with a total of 199 games and Pat Hazell 198 and John Richens 196, congratulations Rod
We would like to thank all the players and fill ins for a very enjoyable competition.
We will now take a break to allow our farming members to get on with their crop sowing, we hope to commence the Winter competition on 18th May.
Night Mixed Tennis.
Round seven of the night mixed competition was played on Wednesday evening 14th April with four teams competing with Bogalong & Beyond with 33 games defeating The Lone Rangers on 31 games, a very close match indeed and Coppsies Foppsies with 40 games defeating Bits & Pieces with 24 games, the sets scores were not available. Charles Harvey filled in for Danny Joyce for Coppsies Floppsies.
Round Eight will be played this Wednesday weather permitting.
Social tennis will continue on Thursday mornings starting around 8am all welcome.
