Gunyah Craft Shop offers a range of locally sourced stocks baby's clothing and knitwear, plants, art and homemade craft items, Grenfell merchandise as well as local honey, eggs and seasonal produce.
Be it as a volunteer, contributor or just helping out, the committee are looking for anyone within the community who would like to be a part of a local institution.
"A number of Grenfell ladies banded together to form a group to promote wool and woollen goods and to open a craft shop," Margo Taylor said.
"As well as promoting wool and woollen goods it was to be a charitable organisation and each month aimed to give a donation to a worthwhile cause chosen by the members at their monthly meeting.
"The first donation was given to the Grenfell Hospital to open a fund for an ice making machine."
The Grenfell Gunyah Craft Shop has been supported by a team of very keen local volunteers since it opened its doors.
"Due to the availability of volunteers, the roster has a lot of vacancies and we have had to cut back our opening hours from 7 days a week to five days - Tuesday to Saturday," Margo said.
"The craft shop needs more volunteers for the daily operation of the shop, and contributors to make items for sale.
"Anyone can bring in their homemade arts and crafts, cooking such as cakes, slices, jams and preserves and home grown produce, to be sold on consignment.
"If you have thought you would like to become involved in your community or do something that would help others, then this may be your answer."
Gunyah Craft Shop will have revised trading hours during the long weekend.
We will be open Friday 2, Saturday 3, Sunday 4, and Monday 5 October 10am to 3pm. Please pop in and bring your visitors to see our great range of hand made products. Phone number is 0473 302 489.
