2020 season starter

On Saturday July 18 was the opening of the Oilsplus South West Cup with the main game kicked off at 3.15pm in front of a great crowd.

The very keen Panthers ran onto the field to face a very focused and well drilled Boorowa side. The end of the first half shocked the young Panther's side with a 40-0 scoreline.

After a talk in the change rooms and the injection of some more experienced players the Panthers returned to the field a totally different side.

With a little more direction and tightened defence the Panthers won the ball from the kick off and started to win the line outs against the throw. This improvement and confidence led to the local boys finally scoring a couple of tries.

The last 10 minutes of the second half the Panthers ran out of puff, which led to three quick tries to the Boorowa Goldies. This blew the score out on the final whistle to 66-12.

This weekend the Panthers make the trip out to Condo to play the Rams. This is always a tough trip, so please come and support the Panthers on Saturday.

I would like to thank all our supporters who came and helped celebrate the opening of the long awaited 2020 season. A particular thank you to the committee, volunteers and CEF who helped organise and run this big day. Finally a thank you to our crowd who all abided by our COVID-19 regulations.

HARD FOUGHT: Despite the loss the Grenfell Panthers clawed their way back into the second half on Saturday.
