Ladies bowls
Hello ladies,
As I am sure you will realise this will be my last report for some time.
It is most unfortunate that we will be unable to play bowls for some time but as we all know, we must abide by the governments decrees.
I know like us, you must all be missing our game.
However, all I can do is to wish you, your families and anyone who reads this column, good health and look forward to seeing you all on the green in the future.
When there is any change for the better, I am sure it will be advised in the media.
Till then my thoughts are with you all.

Grenfell Touch Football
Ok touch lovers. Here's a good news story amid the gloom.
On Monday we managed to just sneak in under the 500 people limit and hold our A and B grade touch grand finals.
B Grade first half was a close affair between The Stubble Rats from Caragabal and The Benchwarmers from a generation after.
The D.O.B was a telling factor with the youngsters running away with it comfortably in the Second half.
Congratulations to both teams who were new to the competition this year.
A Grade was a show down between last years premiers Rocky Road and minor premiers The Cri.
It was a fittingly fast and skillful final with the referee struggling to keep up at times.
In the end The Cri won in a close finish.
They now have the Bragging rights for 12 months!
A big thank you to our sponsor Garry at the Cri who's sausages all gave us an excuse to have a refreshing drink after games.
Also to Weddin Shire for letting us hold the second half of the season at Lawson Park while our field recovers from the drought.
Thanks to Bec and Bec for setting up the competition and updating the draw and points table.
And finally to all the refs who had a go during the season so everyone could have a game especially those stepping out with the whistle for the first time.
Cheers Womble, Bec, Tara, Rhys, Matt, Frazer, Jarred and anyone I've forgotten.

Junior Rugby League
Due to an official announcement from NSW Rugby League all footy training is cancelled until further notice and advice being received.
The gala days have also been cancelled.
The National Rugby League (NRL), in partnership with State governing bodies, has postponed all Community Club Rugby League in Australia until at least the first weekend of May.
The postponement includes all junior and senior Community Club Rugby League competitions, training, representative fixtures, gala days and future League Stars programs.
The decision to suspend community rugby league activities immediately has been made after widespread consultation to assist in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The decision to pause all aspects of Community Rugby League activities in Australia has not been taken lightly. Community Rugby League is the foundation of our game and we are committed to seeing it flourish, however the health and well-being of our participants, volunteers and communities is our priority.
Whilst you can't be in the stands or on the field right now, we can still hear you, we can still see you. Wear your colours, send your favourite player a message of support, and most importantly check in with your teammates.
We look forward to our Community Rugby League participants returning to the game as soon as expert advice deems it appropriate.
Registration for Club Rugby League season 2020 is still open, to find out more visit www.playrugbyleague.com
Grenfell Soccer Club
Unfortunately, due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, Grenfell Soccer Club has decided to inactivate and suspend online registrations and cancel the face to face session on 25 March at Grenfell Public School.
In light of all the information we have available, currently the season will go ahead.
If all suspensions are lifted when mentioned, the season will continue as normal.
However as we are in unknown territory, this decision is out of our hands.
Please email grenfellsoccer@gmail.com of your intentions to play soccer this season so you can be added to our email list and be kept up to date with all information as it becomes available.
Registration will be extended as needed once we get the all clear to go ahead.

Golf
This week, several updates have been provided by both the Federal and State Governments concerning the closure of non-essential facilities.
COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as it is more commonly known, has created global health concerns regarding the disease and its infection rates.
As you have probably seen and read in media reports, certain facilities have had to close. These facilities include clubs, pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes (dining in), cinemas, casinos, places of worship gyms and indoor sporting venues.
While golf clubhouse operations must be closed for normal business, golfing activities can and should continue. By its nature, golf promotes a level of social distancing, and while this must be adhered to, golf is a lower risk sport than many others.
Golfers, of course, should exhibit a heightened awareness of personal hygiene and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
