C2G first began in 2017 when a group of ten enthusiastic participants took part in a "trial walk". the event was a success and it was decided that the C2G was going to continue as an annual event. in 2018, the event was an even bigger success, exceeding all our goals and expectations... the dream was alive the objective for 2019 was to grow in participation and impact; From July 2019, the C2G Walk was registered as a company with NFP status, which allows us to grow and ultimately help more people affected by mental health issues such as Anxiety, Depression and Suicide.
To date, the C2G walk has raised close to $50K for Mental Health over the last three years - a number set to grow with the 2020 walk. Rural and Remote Mental Health is the beneficiary for this year's event taking from March 12-14. The C2G is forming a great relationship with the organisation who are on board to contribute all the money raised on the back the event towards providing mental health workshops in the surrounding communities - through accredited presenters. Dates and locations to be announced.
Moving forward, their purpose is to run workshops throughout the year, leveraging the resources from larger organisations. They wish to make them readily available to the people of the Central West, and ensure they are focusing on all different demographics.
In 2020, they will be trying to build relationships with multiple organisations who run mental health workshops, a commitment they aim to fulfill. The group were bused to Cargo yesterday morning from where they will commence their 96km walk and will finish in Grenfell on Saturday afternoon at the Grenfell Country Club

SUPPORTING COUNTRY TOWNS: Recently two different groups of motor bike enthusiasts converged on Grenfell for a weekend of fun, fellowship and support of country towns.
The first group "Sydney Adventure Riders" several bank employers arrived in Grenfell via Cowra on Saturday afternoon, March 7 and spent two great days in the area supporting local businesses. The second group "Wobbly Boot Tourists" also arrived in Grenfell on Saturday afternoon to celebrate their Captain - Chris Ray's Rehab.
Chris who resides in Grenfell unfortunately had an accident and the boys and one lady were in town to visit and catch up. Both groups enjoyed their stay at the Railway Hotel and said they would return.
CLEAN UP OZ DAY: On Friday, March 6 students and staff of St Joseph's spent time cleaning up in the streets surrounding their school. In a very short time, they collected several bags of rubbish from the footpath area. They were surprised to find the rubbish, but very happy to be able to clear it away and tidy this space in the streets around their school.
BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY: Jenn Graham was thrilled to be invited to join a bird photography group on its regular monthly outing to Emerald Lakes Wetlands on the Gold Coast. Recently. In all, Jenn spent five days on "The Goldie" (As it is affectionately known by the locals) and met twenty-three of the group members in person for the first time.
Apart from an exciting array of birds, Queensland was being swept by waves of beautiful Lemon Migrant and Blue Tiger butterflies, so the cameras were a'clickin in overtime! From the 25 species of birds Jenn sighted over the five days, there were only nine species that she hasn't already photographed in the Weddin Shire. Without a doubt. The star of the weekend was a magnificent juvenile Easter Osprey. Thank you, Jenn, also for another beautiful sunset photograph.
