St Joseph's Grenfell news | Farewell to Father Tom

Farewell Fr Tom: On Sunday September 22, following the 9.30am Mass parishioners will hold a morning tea to farewell Parish Priest Father Tom Thorton.

Everyone is welcome to attend and Parishioners are asked to provide a plate to share

Father Tom who has been officiating in Grenfell, Young and Boorowa over the past six years will take up a new appointment as Parish Priest of Charnwood ACT as of September 28 2019.

Two new clergy Fr James Onoja - Parish Pastor and Fr Praveen Paul - Associate Pastor have been appointed to the parishes of Young, Boorowa and Grenfell and will commence their ministries on the weekend of September 28/29.

Commencing that weekend Sunday Mass time will 9am.

Fr Allen's Garden: Former Parish Priest Fr Allen Crowe will be in attendance following morning tea for the official unveiling of a plaque in his Rose Garden.

Fr Allen planted Heaven Scent Roses to mark the Centenary of the opening and blessing of St Joseph's Church on June 23 1907.

Combined Churches Dinner: St Joseph's Parish will be hosting the Combined Churches dinner on Thursday September 26 at the Grenfell Country Club. This dinner is open to both men and women.

Guest speaker is Vanessa Gibson who will give a talk on her trip to Rome.

Tickets @$25 for a two-course meal are available at Louisa's Locker and must be collected and paid for by today Wednesday September 18. For further information contact Mary Moffitt on 63431575.
