From 1pm until 6pm on Thursdays locals can come in out of the cold, stop by for a chat, play a game, do a puzzle or simply sit and have a cup of tea or work on a craft project.
Officer Cathryn Williamson is inviting everyone of all ages to join her and the Grenfell Salvation Army team in socialising and connecting with fellow local residents.
According to Cathryn the hall has a fancy coffee machine and there are also some Royal Easter Show award winning goodies for afternoon tea.
Cathryn came on board earlier this year officially starting her new role in Grenfell in June. Cathryn said that the decision was made that Cathryn could take the role or the Grenfell branch would close.
"When I was asked (to take on Grenfell) my first reaction was the Salvation Army in Grenfell can't close," Cathryn said.
With the Grenfell Salvation Army Hall celebrating 95 years this year Cathryn wants locals to know it is there to be utilised by everyone.
Cathryn's familiar links with the Salvation Army are not new with her Aunty Allison Cowling having held a similar position as Cathryn back in "1979 or 1980-ish".
Cathryn wants the whole community to know that the Open Door is a chance for locals to meet friends old and new.
The Salvation Army Open Door is held every Thursday at the Hall on George Street from 1pm to 6pm.
