What a fabulous day!
Mother Nature was on her best behaviour on Saturday and bathed us in glorious spring-like weather conditions for the contention of the Kelly Rose Bowl Tournament.
Although this was a District Event and necessitated a certain standard of decorum, it was refreshing to hear peels of laughter emanating from the near hits and misses being played across the rinks.
Thank you to the teams who travelled from Young, Harden, Cootamundra and Boorowa to compete in this event, but once again it was the Grenfell Ladies who bought their fine form to the green and ended the day triumphant.
Now to find somewhere prominent to display not only our Pennant Flag but the Kelly Rose Bowl Trophy as well!
Many thanks to the Club Limited for our lovely lunch of soup and sandwiches and last but by no means least, to our local IGA for their fruit box donation for our raffle.
As the Festival and District events come to a close, it is now time to prepare for the State Pennant play-offs in mid August.
During the next few weeks you may come across some of our ladies selling raffle tickets, 100 club entries or whatever else we can think of to help subsidise our trip.
Many of our city competitors are fortunate to have clubs that are financial enough to provide their representatives with resort style accommodation, flights, entry fees etc but the smaller country club Ladies often have to pay out of their own pocket.
Our club has kindly offered to subsidise part of our expenses, but even with caravan park accommodation, we will still need to raise a substantial amount of money.
So, please don't be shy.
Any assistance you can afford will be truly appreciated.
If you are a local business, maybe you have a small item we could use as a raffle prize?
Any donations would be greatly received!
REMINDER: MONTHLY MEETING THIS SATURDAY AT 2PM.
Many items to be discussed, including AGM, Presidents Day, Pennant playoffs etc, so please clear your calendar and be a part of some major upcoming decisions.
Lastly, good luck to Kathy Betcher and Rosemary Walter who will be travelling to Wagga on 25th & 26th June for the Regional Open Pairs Play-Offs.
