What a week! Grenfell....we didn't let you down.
Our Ladies Pennant team were extremely proud to bring home a District flag a couple of weeks ago.
I advised in last week's edition that we would now be heading off to compete in the Regional play-offs.
Well, prepare yourselves for the previously promised, glowing report.
During the week we travelled to Condobolin and I am pleased to advise, that after some convincing wins, we are now off to the State play-offs.
The venue is yet to be determined, but is somewhere around the Kingscliff area and will be held from August 14 to 18.
During the next few months you may come across some of our ladies selling raffle tickets, 100 club entries or whatever else we can think of to help subsidise our trip.
As you can imagine...travel, accommodation and food is going to be quite expensive.
So, please don't be shy.
Any assistance you can afford will be truly appreciated.
If you are a local business, maybe you have a small item we could use as a raffle prize?
Any donations would be greatly received.
Regardless of what happens, you can rest assured that we will do our little town proud.
Our monthly meeting was held on Saturday.
It was decided that, due to the colder weather, Saturday's Ladies days will now begin at 11am.
As we need to strengthen our match fitness in preparation for the State Pennant play-offs, this will be a full game of 21 ends.
We will also still have our circuit training on Tuesday afternoons at 1.30pm.
Our next monthly meeting will be held on Saturday. June 22 at 2pm.
We have some more representative bowls being contested in June, but like any great read, I will leave this little tease and keep you posted in future editions.
Our club is flourishing at the moment and can only be enhanced by new bowlers, so if you've ever thought of trying a new, low impact sport/ activity, now is a great time.
We have free coaching available for anyone who is interested. Please contact the club on 63431656 to make an appointment with either Kathy or Martin Betcher.
There is no age limit, no uniform and no equipment required. Otherwise, just pop down for a friendly game.
