Aaron Flagg has been appointed the new principal of The Henry Lawson High School (THLHS) following the departure of Ian Pattingale last year.

Mr Flagg has more than 20 years experience in the education department and says he is settling into his new role at THLHS fantastically with staff, students and members of the community warmly welcoming him in his new position.
"I started my teaching career in 1999 as the Agriculture Coordinator in Biloela (Central QLD), then I moved to Griffith, NSW as the Science/Agriculture teacher," said Mr Flagg.
"I started as the head teacher of Science in 2006, before relieving as the Deputy Principal in 2013 and 2014. In recent years I have been the Principal of Balranald Central School from 2014 to 2018." he added.
Mr Flagg's wife Hope is also a teacher and has recently began a position at Young High School teaching English/History, they have 5 year-old twins Lucille and Theodore who have just started pre-school.
Mr Flagg enjoys playing social golf and lawn bowls as well as travelling and spending time with family and friends.
In his new role as principal of THLHS Mr Flagg says he is committed to consulting, sharing, listening and influencing the school's plan moving forward, targeting available financial, physical, human and technological resources to achieve quality student learning outcomes, promoting a collegial and co-operative culture to support team effectiveness and to encourage individual development and building strong relationships and partnerships with the Grenfell community.
"I am excited to find out more about our students, so that I can best support my colleagues and families to make our students school journey a happy and rewarding one," said Mr Flagg
"I would like to say a big thank you to my new colleagues and the students of The Henry Lawson High School for welcoming me so warmly and supporting my transition into the school,
"My door will always be open and I look forward to meeting and working with the broader community in the days and weeks ahead,
"I enjoy meeting people and welcome anyone who wants to call in and say hi and introduce themselves, I also enjoy hearing peoples perspective of the school." he added.
Staff and students at THLHS have also welcomed new Agriculture teacher Miss Annika Whale and new Librarian Mrs Margaret Murney to the school and to the Grenfell community.
