GRENFELL COMMUNITY HEALTH: Grenfell residents who participated in any of the Grenfell Community Health programs during the past twelve months were treated to a very special morning tea On Wednesday December 12 in the Uniting Church Hall.
Following a delicious morning tea, more than fifty members of the community enjoyed carol singing led by the health staff Anne Worrad, Belinda Wilson, Elly Schiller, Nicole Brindle, Helen Denovan and Zelda de Wet.
On behalf of the Community Health, Elly Schiller thanked all who participated in their programs over the year.
She thanked everyone who dressed in Christmas colours of red and green and complimented Peter Butcher on his fabulous Christmas tie.
VISITORS: Billo and Judy Wheatley welcomed their daughter in law Samantha Wheatley from Robertson and her mother Trish McLoughlin from Mt Hunter for a pre-Christmas get together.
Billo celebrated his birthday the evening before at the Railway Hotel and was treated to another night out when the visitors arrived.
1ST BIRTHDAY: Michelle Rohan organised a first birthday party for Dommie with all his little friends and their families on Sunday December 16 in Vaughn Park.
Dommie had a wonderful day and Michelle wishes to thank everyone for their lovely gifts, attending and making Dommies’s day so special.
She said “I am absolutely humbled by you beautiful humans. You have welcomed Dommie into your lives and have supported us every minute.
Words cannot express how I feel. I love every single one of you and thanks from the bottom of my heart for sharing Dommie’s 1st Birthday with us. He is one very lucky little boy!”
Special thanks to Tara Anderson for Dommie’s beautiful cake.
RETIRED POLICE LUNCHEON: Each year a group of former police officers enjoy a catch up.
Don Robinson was in charge of the gathering this year and chose Grenfell to host the luncheon.
The group, including Former Grenfell Police Officers Don Robinson, Don Forsyth and Bruce “Breaker” Meurant met at the Railway Hotel on Monday December 10.
Sgt Michael Madgwick from Grenfell (not retired) and his father Max a former officer at Lithgow, were also in attendance.
Bruce, now of Orange was happy to catch up with many of the locals when he had an overnight stay in town.
CARAGABAL SCHOOL P&C: The Caragabal School P&C and staff enjoyed a progressive Christmas party on November 30.
The group travelled by bus to Young for dinner then onto Grenfell for refreshments before returning to Caragabal. Everyone thanked Martina Dykhoff (bus driver) for giving up her evening to take care of them.
CHRISTMAS CHURCH SERVICES: Anglican Holy Trinity: Christmas Eve 9pm, Christmas Day 8am. Catholic St Joseph’s: Christmas Day 9am. Salvation Army: Christmas Day 9.30am. Uniting and Presbyterian Combined Service in the Uniting Church: 8am Christmas Day.
