Weddin Shire mayor Cr Mark Liebich was re-elected unopposed at Council’s September meeting held last Thursday for his seventh term. Cr Paul Best was elected deputy mayor for his third term, just edging out Cr Phil Diprose 4 votes to 3 during the elections.

As well as the mayoral elections Council delegates were appointed to various organisations.
Community representatives were also appointed to committees under Sec 355 of the Local Government Act 1993 after Councillors submitted their votes.
The successful appointees are as follows:
*Heritage committee –John Hetherington, Denise Yates and Sandra Hughes
*Tourism committee – Warwick Crampton, Denise Yates and Alan Griffiths with Tina Cooper appointed as the village representative
* Art Gallery committee – Hugh Moffitt, Mary Moffitt and Warwick Crampton
*Bogolong Dam committee – Darren Nealon, Robert Grimm and Alan Griffiths
