Neva Napier declined to accept nomination as president after 40 years of leading and teaching community art.
Neva established this group in 1978 and was successful in obtaining a number of grants to develop infrastructure and equipment to attract artists who would conduct classes in their particular genre.
Since that time she has been a great supporter and artist at local, district and regional art exhibitions.
Her love of the bush is reflected in her many oil paintings that are now hanging across NSW and she has actively encouraged her students to paint landscapes in and around the Grenfell district. In addition, she has an oil painting of the Weddin Mountains currently hanging in the Council Chambers of Grenfell, in the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Another change has been Pat Brus who declined nomination for Secretary. Pat has been Secretary for 18 years. She has also been a great supporter as well as an accomplished artist and has exhibited her work locally and across the district in both Agricultural Shows and Art Exhibitions.
Following further nominations from members there are now two new executives. Kathy Williams as president and Judy Spedding as secretary with Janelle Reeves agreeing to continue in her role as treasurer.
Both Neva and Pat have spent considerable time and energy in developing our local art reputation and this energy will be missed.
Kathy and Judy are experienced artists in their own right and have the opportunity to now lead the Grenfell Art and Crafts well into the future.
