This Sunday at Lawson Park former NRL half Joe Williams will turn out for the Grenfell Goannas after signing for the remainder of the season.
Joe grew up with and is a close friend of Grenfell captain-coach Steve Taylor and he will fit playing for Grenfell around his current work with suicide prevention.
We will be hosting Condobolin in League Tag (12.40pm) and First Grade (2.00pm).
The Girlannas will need to defeat the Ramettes to hold onto their top three position whereas the fifth placed visitors as usual will be tough competition.
The Condo Rams have had only the two wins for the year with one of those being the scalp of Cargo but they have strengthened
since the Goannas last played them in April.
We hope to see plenty of support for the Girlannas and Goannas down at Lawson Park this Sunday.
FESTIVAL WOOD RAFFLE:
Our annual Henry Lawson Festival wood raffle was again well supported with the lucky winner of the 2.40 ton being Sam Savva.
The Grenfell Goannas Rugby League Club would like to thank the Girlannas who helped out on Saturday and the Goannas who cut the wood three weeks earlier.
Also special thanks to Josh Liebich and the staff at Southwest Fuel for their assistance.
