Ms Mackay, who started in the role in early April, is extremely passionate about the Grenfell community and TAFE NSW, and is looking forward to providing a crucial link between the two.
“Prior to this role, I worked with TAFE NSW students in Grenfell as a support officer for two years,
“I’m president of the Grenfell Pony Club and I’m a member of the Grenfell Showground Trust,
“I just love the Grenfell community and I want to see it thrive,” Ms Mackay said.
“I believe that everyone benefits from a vibrant community, especially small communities like Grenfell.
“TAFE NSW definitely has a vitally important role to play in this regard.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the people of Grenfell to ensure we can deliver the training and educational opportunities they need.
“I feel really privileged to be appointed to this position in such a wonderful town and feel I am the right person to deliver great results for the community.”
Ms Mackay said while she had only been in the role for less than a month, the course opportunities available at Grenfell had already expanded.
“I’m really excited that we have a number of new courses available now – a Statement of Attainment in Office Environment, a Statement of Attainment in Microsoft Office and a Statement of Attainment in Excavator and Wheeled Front End Loader Operations,” she said.
“With an ever-expanding number of courses in Grenfell and a brand new, state-of-the-art Connected Learning Centre which will be coming soon,
“It’s a very exciting time for TAFE NSW in Grenfell and I encourage the community to make the most of the wonderful training opportunities available to them.”
