Bill is overjoyed to have been named as a finalist and looks forward to attending the Presentation Dinner in Bankstown in June.
“I was humbled to have been chosen as a finalist, there are so many dedicated volunteers in NSW & ACT who work tirelessly within their organisations, I was lost for words after receiving the phone call,” said Mr Atchison,
“To have been selected out of thousands of outstanding service club volunteers is quite an honour.”
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said it was a huge achievement. “Bill has been chosen for his character and outstanding service provided over 16 years to the SES as a volunteer member and peer support member and 45 years work with the Ambulance Service,” she said. “On behalf of the electorate of Cootamundra I thank Bill for his dedication and commitment to our community and wish him all the best for the Awards Presentation Dinner when the winners will be announced.”
Minister for Emergency Services Troy Grant said the awards shine a light on the outstanding contribution of emergency services men and women in NSW & ACT. “These awards celebrate the outstanding commitment, sacrifice and spirit of service, as a community it is important that we acknowledge and thank volunteers and personnel who give so much of themselves and ask so little in return,” Mr Grant said.
Winners for each service, plus two special winners for NSW, and the young volunteer will be announced at an Awards Presentation Dinner at Bankstown Sports Club on June 1, 2018.
Family, friends, supporters and the general public are invited to attend. Tickets can be purchased at: www.RotaryESCawards.org.au.
