They played 9 Holes at the Australian Golf Club at Rosebery in Sydney on Saturday November 25, 2017.
This event was played in conjunction with The Emirates Australian Open Golf on the weekend of November 25 and 26, 2017.
Nine-hole golf is fast, fun and fits into busy lives – whether it’s early in the morning, after work, at weekends or even on holiday.
Jan and Maria were very honoured to be chosen among other players from various regional golf clubs who participated in NSW.
Two regional and two city players from every state of Australia were selected to play in this inaugural event.
All players selected were flown into Sydney with entry to watch the Pro Golfers in the Emirates Australian Open play on all three days.
There was also a meet and greet evening with other golfers.
Jan and Maria mentioned what a great experience it was to play at the Australian Golf Club let alone playing at the Australian Golf Open.
The course it self was in pristine condition, not a blade of grass out of place, plenty of sand bunkers and the water was “cool”.
On the putting greens, lets just say, Jan and Maria were the only golfers that come from a sand greens club, so there was a lot of explaining to other golfers what it’s like to play on sand greens.
The Australian Golf Club grass greens were very fast, but after a few practices, well, they were still very fast.
Jan and Maria played very well on the day and hoping to put Grenfell on the map for other golfers to play on sand greens.
They want to thank the Grenfell Golf Club members for their support and especially to Golf Australia and Golf NSW for putting on this event. Look out next year!!!!
