Zone 4: 16 a-side playoff:
Last weekend two local bowlers, Blake Bradtke and Steve Galvin, travelled to Gulgong to represent Zone 4 competing against three other Zones in an inter-zone quadrangular tournament.
The side consisted of 16 players and three reserves selected from the whole of the Zone 4 region.
Zone 4 came out second overall, a terrific result, winning two games out of three, the overall winning zone being Zone 16 (Wollongong area).
Congratulations must go to Blake and Steve as they have both been selected in the next Zone 4 side to playoff at Port Macquarie later in the year, this side consists of 12 players and two reserves.
On behalf of the Grenfell Bowling Club and members of the community we wish the team the very best of luck.
New time for social bowls:
With the winter weather well and truly upon us the afternoons are getting colder earlier therefore a decision has been made to change the time of social bowls on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to a 12.30 pm start.
This time represents on the green time and therefore may require names to be submitted earlier to assist with organising teams on the day.
Ever thought about playing social bowls? Social bowls is a fun, friendly competition that involves members submitting their names to the club where the social bowls organisers compile teams for a great afternoon of bowls.
Social bowls is a great way to meet new friends whilst enjoying the fun of the sport of bowls.
