The Food Hall which was officially opened in May 2016 by Kath Smith, now has over 160 customers utilizing the service, many on a weekly basis.
During the celebrations manager Joan Cations thanked many individuals including Rev. William and Leonie Morrow, Jan Parlett, Fr Ross Craven and all of the Churches of Grenfell and Lisa Hughes as well as her valued volunteers for their huge input to firstly establish the Food Hall and then assist with the operation over the past 12 months.
“This has been a huge task and one that could not have been carried out if it weren’t for these wonderful people,” said Joan.
“I would also like to acknowledge our God who has watched over the Food Hall ensuring the project has been a great success for our community.” added Mrs Cations.
Following Joan’s address, Lisa Hughes presented Joan with a special thank you gift on behalf of the volunteers.
Joan then invited Jan Parlett, Fr Ross Craven, Rev. William Morrow and Kathleen Smith to join her in cutting the cake.
All present enjoyed some refreshments and a piece of the delicious birthday cake that was beautifully made and decorated by Fiona Cations.
