This much anticipated event will acknowledge the many Greek families of Grenfell, past and present, who played a pivotal role in shaping our community.

Dear Dr Nicoll,
Thank you for your kind email, your warm welcoming and for informing me about the "Welcome Home" event due to take place in Grenfell on November 19th; an event that sadly I am unable to attend due to other engagements.
Please convey my best wishes for a successful event, which I am positive will attract many Greek families and a strong attendance.
However, I am pleased to provide this message for the Grenfell's "Welcome Home" Event.
Grenfell, a gold mining town, naturally attracted many, among them a lot of newly-arrived migrants, Greeks included.
Our compatriots came to this fertile soil ready to give their sweat and their heart, hoping for a prosperous common future for them and for their children.
Today, this event is another occasion to celebrate these past efforts in Grenfell, to remember and honour our past and all those who have taken this leap of faith to come to another country, which became their adoptive homeland.
Australia’s Greek community is a thriving one and one of the largest expatriate Greek communities in the world.
Australia and Greece share a long friendship.
Today, the friendship between our two peoples remains strong.
I wish to all participants a joyful evening and an event to remember.
Last but not least, I would like to congratulate the organizers and all those who have put their hearts into this Event.
With my best wishes and warm regards,
Ekaterini Xagorari
