The ‘Our History, Our Heritage’ Art Gallery exhibition is now open and has already been popular among locals with many photos and artifacts from private collections on display for the very first time. This exhibition is on display until October 9. The Gallery is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm on Saturdays and 10am to 2pm on Sundays.
The Bush Dance at the Simpson Pavilion on Saturday evening presents a great opportunity for all visitors and residents to catch up in one undercover venue. Doors open at 6pm with Lion’s BBQ dinner available as well as full bar and supper with live music by bush band ‘November Shorn’. Tickets available from CJ Andersons. This is a great family friendly opportunity to enjoy the reunion opportunities the Sesquicentenary provides.
New events are still being added to the Sesquicentenary program. The weekend now offers more guided tours. There is a Heritage Bus Tour and a Ghost Tour. Seats on the Saturday Bus Tour will be allocated on a ‘first in first served’ basis with the bus collecting passengers from the front of the Grenfell Visitor Information Centre at 11am on Saturday October 1. Ghost Tour tickets are available from Grenfell Furniture and Whitegoods.
There is now also a series of expert Bushranger talks on the program. These talks will be held in the Conference Room on Sunday October 2. These sessions are: 10am Peter Bradley "Gardiners Gold on Wheoga Hill", 11am Craig Bratby "The Bushrangers and the Colonial Celebrities", midday Peter Bradley "The Legend of Ben Hall" and 1pm Craig Bratby "An Unseen Bushranger Pictorial Experience". These should be an informative addition to the weekend.
