The Girlannas remained undefeated after a dominating performance in very wet and boggy conditions.
The Grenfell girls handled the inclement conditions far better than their rivals and never let the Condobolin Ramettes get into the game.
The Girlannas superb tagging shut down the Condobolin girls, never giving them a chance to make any clean breaks.
The pressure the Grenfell side was able to put together chocked the attacking prowess of the Condobolin girls and gave Grenfell the edge that they were looking for.
The first fifteen minutes of play was a little sloppy with both sides coming up with handling issues, both sides were trying to play dry weather footy and mistakes were happening.
The Girlannas then settled into the footy that they have become known for, shorter passes combined with straight running had the Condo girls back peddling, then add the clever kicking from Prue Hancock, that was trapping Condo on their own try line for extended periods gave Grenfell a big edge.
This put Grenfell into great field position.
Then came a clever dummy from Caitlin Dixon that had her sprinting into a gap, Caitlin planted the ball down for the first try of the Grand Final and Grenfell were underway, the kick just failed and Grenfell led 4 nil.
The Girlannas went straight back on the attack and only desperate defence held them out.
A penalty was awarded to Grenfell and Isabelle Holz took a shot at goal guiding it through the posts giving Grenfell a 6 nil lead, the siren sounded for halftime and a well earned rest was taken.
The second half got underway and the Girlannas stamped their authority, as their enthusiasm lifted their attack got better and they just ran the Condo girls into the ground.
The kicking game from Grenfell was first class Amanda Livingstone and Prue Hancock kicked with excellent touch gaining valuable metres trapping Condo deep in their own half.
Grenfell’s second try came when once again Caitlin Dixon caught Condo napping, a quick spurt to the try line did the job and Caitlin had her second try for the day, Caitlin was having a blinder, her defence and determination was first class, Amanda added the extras and Grenfell led 12 nil.
The Grenfell backs started to see more ball and break after break presented itself.
The Grenfell girls were well on top and no sign of stopping, Chelsea Anderson topped off a fine match when she burst onto a short pass and sprinted to the try line once again, Amanda added the extras and the Grand final ours, we now led 18 points to nil with less than five minutes remaining.
The Condo girls, at no stage, gave up the ghost, they gave it their all right to the final whistle.
The Grenfell side have a lot of respect for the Condo girls, they always give us a real tussle and play every game in the right spirit.
The win topped off a great year for our Girlannas they were the best side all year and never gave any indications other than they were a team of winners.
Caitlin Dixon was awarded the best on the ground at the presentation, a special mention goes out to the whole side because every one of you gave it your all and a little bit more and you all are dissevered winners.
