Following the success of the first Breakfast Table event, all market stall holders are looking forward to returning to the markets with honey, olives, chickpeas, lamb, preserves and jams, smoked trout, muesli, plants and more . Market organisers have also responded to local feedback and encouraged additional stall holders to attend with a range of produce that includes cheese, olive oil, gourmet flavoured salts
The pop up breakfast cafe will be catered for by Grenfell Preschool and Long Daycare Management Committee using locally sourced ingredients. Expect to see a delicious breakfast menu to cater for all tastes; from slow roasted beans & sourdough to the big breakfast plate. There will be local roasted organic coffee and freshly squeezed juices.
At the Spring Breakfast Table we will also welcome Sophie Hansen. Sophie is a food writer, farmer and founder of the blog ‘Local is Lovely’. Sophie lives with her family on their farm in Orange. Her blog is “a collection of recipes and resources for all people who love farmers and eating locally”, it is a fantastic resource for all living in Central West NSW. Sophie has just released her new book Local is Lovely, writes for ABC Delicious Magazine and has just recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong representing farmers from NSW. We are thrilled that Sophie is able to join us at the The Breakfast Table where she will be doing a presentation and book sales & signing.
We also have live music, children’s activities and an outdoor morning Tai Chi class lead by local instructor Helen Donovan.
The Breakfast Table aims to provide various social benefits including regeneration of community spirit, seasonal food education, a ‘green’ market approach and to also contribute to the economic and social structure of our town & region.
Our Spring Breakfast Table event will be at Lawson Oval (Soccer Grounds) on Sunday 31st August from 8am-12pm.
