The event, scheduled for March 27, promises to equip farmers with fundamental skills in understanding and assessing connectivity options and support them to build a digitally-enabled farm with agtech.
Hosted by Farmers2Founders at the Grenfell Bowling Club, the 'TEKFARM - Getting Farm Tech Connected' event will break down the myths and misconceptions about connectivity solutions in regional areas and guide farmers in developing a personalised digital roadmap for their business.
With assistance from the Regional Tech Hub, farmers will be supported to identify pain points that can be alleviated with improved connectivity and utilise that framework to explore additional agtech solutions. Attendees will also learn how agtech can save time and labour costs, as well as gain insights into specific connectivity needs for different agtech devices.
The event is part of a larger project funded by the NSW Government through the Drought Stimulus Fund and will offer attendees the opportunity to align their digital roadmap with potential funding opportunities, including with Farmers2Founders nationally-focussed TEKFARM initiative supported by the Future Drought Fund or through the Federal Government's On Farm Connectivity Program.
This event aims to improve Weddin Shire residents' digital competency, enhance awareness about the possibilities of high-speed connectivity, boost local adoption of digital innovations, and reduce the digital divide.
Attendees can expect to:
- Develop an 'agtech adoption plan' tailored to their farming system and business needs.
- Gain skills in articulating problem statements and navigating the agtech market for connectivity solutions.
- Understand the emergence of agtech and regional innovation supporting farmers.
The event will feature presentations from agtech and connectivity experts, providing attendees with valuable insights and hands-on learning opportunities.
