According to data from the Bureau of Meteorology the Manganese Road station recorded 88.8mm of rain, almost 30mm more than the June average of 58.1mm.
Last year for the same month Grenfell received under the average rainfall only recording a total of 42mm of rainfall for the month of June.
Down the road in Young they only recorded a total of 68.6mm for the month just beating out the median rainfall for June of 65.2mm, making 2020 the first time in the past several years both Grenfell and Young have made it past the average rainfall for the month of June.
In Cowra 53.0 millimetres was recorded over its usual median of 40.5mm and in Parkes 66.6mm of rain was received over 15mm more than its 51.9mm median.
Up until 9am on July 6 Grenfell had recorded a further 3.5mm for the month of July so far with rain expected throughout the remainder the month.
