Grenfell Public School, Quandialla Public School, Caragabal Public School, St Joseph's Primary School and Bribbaree Public School all danced to 'Bust the Dust' at 1pm last Friday.
St John's Parish School in Trangie called on teachers, students and schools to take up the challenge and join them in their 'Bust the Dust' campaign.
Year 5/6 students at St John's Parish School in Trangie came up with the idea of a simultaneous rain dance.
Students were hoping to get the 18 schools in their diocese involved but so far, thanks to their viral Facebook video, more than 600 schools across the nation registered to take part in the dance.
Each of the local schools who took part put their own unique spin and stamp on the dance sharing their videos on Facebook as part of the movement.
The dance was to raise the spirits of those affected by the drought.
