Probus to hold general meeting before AGM

Thank you to everyone who attended the February meeting of Probus held at the Bowling Club. Another month has gone by and we welcome everyone for the March meeting at the Bowling Club.

We had 61 members present and 14 apologies. Last month's minutes were read and were followed  by the report from our social secretary. Last month the Birthday girl was Beryl Walker who received the special parcel so Happy Birthday to Beryl. Morning tea followed this. Our speaker for the day was Maryanne Wright who is a well known music teacher in the district.

We had a very interesting talk about her work with Sport and Recreation and music students from all over the area. She also features a wind ensemble and choir. This is a very large group  and performed at places like Donus Australis and Florence and Venice when they went overseas.

The  choir was a large group of 80 and they were a credit to their teacher for their good behaviour. A thank you gift was presented to Maryanne for all her good work.

Our next meeting will be on March 18 at 10am at the Bowling Club and is the Annual Meeting, so we hope that it will be well attended. On the doorLes and Halleen Schaeffer, morning tea Eunice Clarke Gwen and Neville Clark. Remember your $3 for morning tea.

STOP PRESS: PRIOR TO THE ANNUAL MEETING THERE WILL BE A GENERAL MEETING - WE NEED ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND MEMBERS WHO WISH TO ATTEND TO BE AT THE CLUB BY 9.15AM, WE APOLOGISE FOR THE SHORT NOTICE.
