All your favourite events and attractions will be there including the Friday night fireworks and Red Shed as well as a few new sections in the pavilions. There will be the usual horse, poultry and dog events, sideshow alley, and of course the popular showgirl competition.
The PAH & I Show Society would like to announce their 2017 Showgirl candidates:
BECKY EASTAWAY: 20, Barista, Becky grew up in Grenfell and completed her schooling at The Henry Lawson High School, before moving to Young to work as a barista before she commences a diploma in Event Management and Marketing. Becky is actively involved in both the Young and Grenfell communities as part of the cadets, Show Societies and various sporting organisations.
Becky sees the Showgirl competition as an opportunity to represent the Grenfell Show Society and to thank them for the opportunities that they have provided to her during her involvement.
SOPHIE MITTON: 22, Student, Born and raised on the family property in Grenfell, Sophie is completing a bachelor degree in medical radiation science at Charles Stuart University in Wagga, following the completion of her degree she hopes to build a career as a radiographer in regional NSW.
Sophie hopes to use the opportunity as a Showgirl entrant to raise awareness of the importance of women in agriculture and to promote career opportunities for young women in rural and regional NSW.
The Show Society will be hosting a Showgirl dinner this Saturday evening to officially introduce the 2017 junior and senior showgirl candidates to the community as future leaders and see them present their thoughts on issues affecting our region and the wider NSW community.
