Club Championships: There was one game last week, that was Major/Minor Pairs. Barry Butler and Ray Walter defeated Nev and Robbie Coleman, this looked to be a win for Nev and Robbie as they got out of the blocks quick with an early lead. Barry and Ray picked up a four on the fourth end to get within two, Nev and Robbie pulled out to a ten shot lead and looked to be too strong, that’s when Barry and Ray took charge, catching up and passing Nev and Robbie, taking the match 26-24.
The Club Triples sheet is out so get your team in, first round games are to be played by the 20th September.
Our Classic Triples Tournament is full, any player that would like to put his name down for reserve for either Saturday or Sunday please do so.
Social Bowls: Just a reminder that this Sunday Men’s Social Bowls will start at 2pm, after the club Father’s Day lunch and raffle.
Wednesday and Friday saw a good roll up of players, sorry have not got the chook winners for Wednesday. Friday chook winners were, J. Norrie, K. Aston, C. Anderson, P. Hunter free games went to A. Armstrong and P. Gee and B. Jones. To our visitor Jason Norrie I hope you had a good day and the boys looked after you. Sunday the weather was even better.
There was a couple of games of triples and a game of pairs. Well, did these blokes have some fun, it was great to see these men playing some great shots, and even greater insults at times to each other. Phil Hunter was getting in trouble for playing like a champ, as was Rodney O’Neill. Robbie Coleman and Barry Harris did not let their skips either down with some fantastic bowls, it was good to see these blokes enjoying themselves.
Not sure how the game finished but I bet there was a lot to talk about in the club after.
The jackpot was not won last week and now stands at $333.00

We had the same number of bowlers as last week and had pairs teams as winners and runners up. The winner was Garth O’Brien again, with Nerida Feeney, winning both games and scoring 22 points.
The runners up were Tom Hazell and Marie Rudd, winning one game and scoring 25 points.
We didn’t select teams for Young on Friday as to some doubt over sickness in our ranks but, at the present time, all is well and we will be able to field two teams.
I heard over the grapevine that Agnes Taylor will be back as a spectator next Friday night and it will be good to have her back on the mats again after a period of sickness.
Next Friday night is the monthly voucher from the cards night and if all goes well we will have a short meeting after the bowls.
