40TH BIRTHDAY:

On Saturday night September 2, a large crowd of over 140 gathered at the Country Club to help Maurice (MOE) Reynolds celebrate his 40th birthday.

The guests dressed in costumes which fitted the theme of the 80's.

Helping Maurice celebrate were his mother Alice and sister Patricia from Captains Flat. His sister Lizette, from Dalby in Queensland was unable to attend.

Guests travelled from Queensland, Leeton, Tasmania, Canberra as well as many from local areas. A great night was enjoyed by all.

Mo thanked everyone for attending and those who sent birthday wishes and a big shout to those who travelled a long distance.

On this special occasion Mo was the recipient of two birthday cakes for which he thanked Sharyn Bradtke and Kat Brenner.

He thanked his aunty Margaret Knight and family for her assistance before, during and after the celebrations.

OBE:

Congratulations to Malcolm Stevens who celebrated his OBE “Over Bloomin’ Eighty” birthday with family and friends at Fettlers Restaurant on Monday September 04.

Helping Malcolm celebrate this historic occasion were his daughter Debbie, son Andy, grandsons Brad and Blake and many of his local friends.

MORE THAN A BOOK CLUB:

Members of the Grenfell Book Club met at Fettlers Restaurant on Monday evening to wine, dine and discuss the latest novels.

Pam Livingstone, Pene Starr, Carol Hargrave, Gai Lander, Mary Moffitt, Zel Barker, Beth Taylor, Val Forsyth and Jenn Graham and others meet regularly to read between the ‘wines’ and enjoy great company.

SYDNEY VISITORS:

Last weekend Mo Simpson and his family enjoyed a visit by some friends from Sydney.

The group was from the tour that Mo took to the U.S. both last year and earlier this year, visiting sites of significance from the U.S. Civil War.

The visitors enjoyed the Grenfell Show, especially their first tractor pull competition.

They made the most of their time here experiencing much that Grenfell has to offer including a delicious meal at Fettlers Restaurant, the wonderful hospitality at Grenfell Hall and ‘Strayleaves’.

They also visited the Chrysler Museum and purchased home-made goods from the Gunyah to take home.

Dressed in 80's gear for Moe's birthday bash was the D'Ombrain family, Jeremy, Payten, Lorali and Madeline.

Their parting words were, ‘We’ll be back we really like your town!’

Mo’s guests from Sydney were Ron and Melissa Cooke, Claire Sydenham, David Cooper, Ian McIntyre John and Julie Morrison plus his family David and Debbie Simpson, Denise, James, Alice and Cate Fennell and locals Jim McClelland and Margaret Roper.

Enjoy a day of social tennis on Wednesday September 13. Play will commence at 9am. $15 P/P includes morning tea and lunch.
