Graeme’s team started out in fine form, winning the first five ends in a row and led 8-1 after seven ends.
But Andrew’s team rallied and took out eight of the next nine ends to establish a handy lead of 16-9.
However, Graeme’s team found new strength after that and scored a three, two twos and two singles on the remaining five ends to take out the match 18-16.
It was certainly an entertaining match but unfortunately there can be only one winner.
Congratulations to Graeme, Rob and Roger on being our Triples Champions for 2017.
Social Bowls
You can’t say our social bowlers aren’t keen, with almost as many coming along for a roll-up during the winter months as in the summer.
This week, 46 bowlers turned out despite the cold winter winds blowing across the greens.
On Wednesday and Friday, instead of chooks the prizes were double passes to last Saturday’s Rock ‘n’ Roll night and on Wednesday they went to Robbie Coleman, Barry Jones, Kerry Aston and Rodney O’Neill, with Nevin Hughes winning the free game.
On Friday the double passes went to Greg Fanning, John Grogan and David Frost, with Jimmy Sparkes winning the free game.
David Frost, who was unable to make it to the Rock ‘n’ Roll night, kindly donated his passes to The Biased Tiger and I’m pleased to report that the Lady Tigress and I had a great night out. Thanks David.
It was back to chooks on Sunday and the winners were Rodney O’Neill, Nev Coleman, John Dumbrell and Barry Jones. Kerry Aston won the free game.
