Grenfell Goannas report

The road trip to Condobolin is never an easy one to take and this was once again proven last Sunday with the Goannas going down 46 to 38 to the Condo Rams.

An under strength Goannas team with a bench that looked more suited to a Golden Oldies team lead the Rams 18 to 10 at halftime.

Poor ball control hampered the Goannas flow and kept Condobolin in the match in the second half.

Going try for try the Goannas lead with 10 minutes’ remaining.

but with an injury toll mounting for the Goannas it was Condo who was able to finish the game the stronger and gain an important 2 competition points.

Try scorers were Sam Ingram 3, Steve Taylor 1 , Mitch Stevens 1, Phil Ingram 1 Stevie Ingram 1 and Mitch Stevens 5 Goals.

Stevie Ingram collected the Players Player award and 1 point with Josh Edwards 2points and Mitch Stevens 3 points repectively.

The Girlannas also had their toughest game of the season but managed to come home with a 12 points to 4 victory to remain undefeated. Well done girls, a terrific effort.

This Sunday, June 16, football returns to Lawson Park with the Girlannas taking on the 2nd placed Cargo Blue Heelers  in the top of the table clash at 12.40pm.

At 2pm the Goannas will battle it out with the Cargo Blue Heelers in 1st Grade. Best of luck to both teams.

The Goannas came away with a disappointing narrow loss over the Condo Rams last weekend.
