This game was always going to be the toughest hit out for the season with an in form Coota intending to keep their current unbeaten status.
Grenfell took to the field showing some great determination and strength in the forwards.
Cootamundra started the game with the majority of the ball, capitalising early with two penalty goals.
The Panthers didn’t take a backward step with a number of physical hits putting Cootamundra on the back foot.
Grenfell was able to cross the line with James McClelland putting the first points on the board for the Panthers. Coota then fired back in a big way and took charge of the game.
Everything that Grenfell threw at Cootamundra was out-classed, with the opposition beginning to rack up the points.
Grenfell stuck with their never say die attitude and kept on grinding away but unfortunately Cootamundra were the better drilled side on the day.
The final score was 40-7 with the Tri-Colours claiming the win
This week’s Panthers points were awarded to:
3 points to John White
2 points to Jim McClelland
1 point to Sam Hockley
Players player went to Irish.
This weekend, Saturday May 27, Grenfell will host Harden at Bembrick Field.
