Go Errol

As a small child Errol would often wait patiently and excitedly when given the opportunity to go to work with his father, who was the manager of the Westmead Raceway, as he absolutely loved the sprint cars and all the action and excitement of the racing circuit.

Errol Warren, 73, formerly of Grenfell, and has recently returned to town, is looking forward to his next big race which is scheduled for Saturday June 10 at the Parramatta Valvoline Raceway, this will be the final race of the current season.

This final season race will be a 50 lap (approx. 5 kms) race and Errol feels confident as he prepares for the big event.

“They (colleagues) tell me I am the eldest driver still competing in the circuit, and I intend to keep driving for as long as I can, it is my passion,” said Errol.

“I am looking forward to the season’s final race in a few weeks in Parramatta and will then take a short rest before preparing for the next season.” says Errol.

Errol began competition racing approximately 10 years ago and is pictured here with his pride and joy, his Wingless Sprint Car.

At the tender age of 73 years-old Errol has been hailed the eldest competitive driver currently racing in the Speedway circuit.

Congratulations Errol and best of luck at Parramatta Raceway next month.
