To continue providing high quality community services, they need your help.
On Saturday May 27 and Sunday May 28 the Salvo team will be conducting their 2017 Red Shield Appeal.
This year the Red Shield Appeal is focusing on homelessness and The Salvation Army is asking the community to help end homelessness now through making a donation.
There are more than 105,000 people in Australia who currently don’t have a secure and safe place to live.
By supporting the Red Shield Appeal you are helping to change a life before it becomes a lifetime, assisting someone to break the cycle of homelessness.
You will see the Grenfell team around town collecting for the Red Shield Appeal, there will also be a Sausage Sizzle on May 28 from 10.30am at the George Street Salvation Army Hall, with all members of the community invited to attend.
Grenfell Salvation Army Officer, Heather Horneman said, “We have a great team here in Grenfell who are dedicated to supporting those in need of assistance within the local community as well as the broader community.”
“We hope that members of the public can dig deep to support the 2017 Red Shield Appeal,” says Heather.
Funds from the Red Shield Appeal support services such as:
Aged care services; Alcohol and Other Drugs; Alcoholism Detoxification service; Anger management programs; Child and adolescent services; Community support; Counselling services; Court and prison services; Disability services; Employment, Education; Family violence services; Homelessness and Housing programmes; Recreation programmes; Women's refuge; Youth support and more.
