Marie and Allan were an inspirational couple with a truly unique and heartwarming story about their connection to Grenfell. 

Marie and Allan met in Sydney and it would be five years before they established their unique coincidence! Both Allan and Marie were born in Nurse Hesp’s maternity residence in Wood Street, Grenfell.

When visiting the town last weekend they enjoyed a meal with close friends the Nicoll family. The next day they set about locating Nurse Hesp’s home. They not only found the home but they met the current owner, Michelle Rohan, who invited them in for a chat. They reminisced about bygone days like they were long lost friends before inviting Michelle to visit them on the Gold Coast whenever she may be up that way. The Woods described how they felt overwhelmed by the warm welcome they received when visiting Grenfell and look forward to returning one day in the future.
