Grenfell Lions Club to host 'Aussie Baribie' and Market Day this Sunday

The Lions Club received a request from the Grenfell Historical Society for assistance to purchase a compactus storage unit.  As income to the Historical Society is received from only the small financial membership, entry fees through the door by visitors, research fees and an annual street stall, the Lions Club moved to assist the society with a donation of $1600 towards a storage unit with members also volunteering to assist with the installation. This small band of volunteers at the Society is on hand to assist the community and visitors, the museum is open Saturday and Sunday afternoons and Mondays from 9am and for special events. Lions President Keith Engelsman presented the cheque to President Peter Mitton at the recent Picnic Races.

Market Day and ‘Aussie Barbie’ to support Childhood Cancer Research: Grenfell Lions Club Biggest BBQ will be held in conjunction with their Market Day this Sunday April 23 from 8.30am-12.30 pm at the Railway Station. Many of the 1400 Lions Australia Clubs will be holding BBQ’s to raise funds for research into the causes and prevention of, and to find a cure for, childhood cancer. If you wish to book a stall at the “Aussie Barbie” to support Children’s Cancer Research call Lions Barry Franklin on 6343 1130 or Terry Carroll on 6343 1574.
