Commencing in 2017, community pre-schools across New South Wales who enrol children for at least 600 hours in the year before school will receive increased subsidies from NSW Government, enabling them to reduce fees for families. This announcement involves the Grenfell Pre-School and long day care centre as well as the Weddin Mobile Pre-School Service. "The funding boost will deliver the largest single fee reduction in NSW history, which is great news for local families with young children. It will make pre-school more affordable, allowing more children to participate in 600 hrs (or around 15 hrs p/w) of early childhood education in community pre-schools in the year before they start school." said Katrina
