They enjoyed a night out to dinner on Tuesday evening and were joined by Jenny’s brother Garry and Ruth Higgs.
Jenny, Carla and Matthew travelled to the Central Coast to catch up with more of their family and friends before returning home.
HAPPY VISITORS:
A very welcome note was left in the donation box at the Grenfell Lions Club barbecue/ children’s park and amenities facility at the Grenfell Railway Station.
It read; “Congratulation – Lions. What a great Lion-hearted effort to make available this wonderful stop-over.”
Although you are not in Camps Australia Traveller’s Bible, you are on Wiki leaks and we have given you another advertisement – a 5 star rating.
The phone and computer give us version of the traveller’s ‘bush telegraph’ and it is bringing people to Grenfell.
Suggest you promote a two plus night stop over and advertise local attractions to assist business.”
Thank you Y & TJ.
WELCOME TO
GRENFELL:
The Williams family of Brian, Kathryn, Steven and Sarah who have recently purchased a property in the Weddin Shire enjoyed an evening out to dinner with Pam Holland and her daughter Gina Sloane and her children Madison and, Strattan and Gemma Assenheim.
Once settled, Brian and Kathryn’s son Steven will be the manager of their property.
SHOP TILL YOU DROP:
A chance meeting in Cowra of Cheryl Bazzano from Helensburgh and our local Sculpture and Artist Kathleen McCue of Patina Gallery, who was mounting her exhibition in the Gallery at the Japanese Gardens where she purchased one of Kathleen's works, inspired Cheryl to visit Grenfell and view Patina Gallery.
Cheryl recently visited Grenfell for three days bringing friends Wendy Matheson from Sydney and Lyn Fagan from Wollongong.
Wendy had previously lived in Temora and had friends Betty Hetherington and Jenny Goode whom she had remained in touch with over the years; hence it was decided they should have a reunion on Grenfell while they were visiting.
All ladies had a wonderful time, with serious retail therapy in our Main Street; Raffia & Co, Louisa’s Locker, Grenfell Shoes, Mingle on Main, the 'Pop Up Shop' Jan Parlett's Country Experience and a private viewing at Patina Gallery where an afternoon tea had been arranged by Kathleen.
They also commented on how good our Chinese Restaurant was, how they enjoyed the friendliness and dinner at the Railway Hotel and the charm and service of the two Bed and Breakfast places in which they were staying; Grenfell Hall and The Calico Duck.
On Sunday they were delighted that our Art Gallery was open Sunday and very impressed with the exhibition and our Visitor Information Centre.
Shows Tourism is not 9-5 Monday to Friday!
All ladies left with a glowing impression of our town (although they would like to have been able to have a nice coffee and cake on Saturday afternoon and Sunday before leaving), our scenic drives and villages and what we have to offer in the Central West.
