Five lucky community groups in the Weddin Shire have benefited from $25,000 as part of the Southern Phone Grant Scheme. Southern Phone Chairman, Mr Bill Hilzinger, presented the $25,000 to Weddin Shire Mayor, Mr Mark Liebich, and the community group representatives last Thursday, February 26, at the Council Chambers. The community groups and key projects include Grenfell Senior Rugby League Club - Upgrade canteen amenities; Grenfell Senior and Junior Rugby Union Club - Upgrade canteen amenities; Caragabal Memorial Hall - Community hall restoration; Grenfell Kart club - Upgrade existing on-site effluent disposal system; Grenfell Amateur Swimming Club - Purchase secure lockers.
