Off the back of a successful 2014 season for the Grenfell Goannas Youth League team the development pathways for players are beginning the brighten. Daniel Harveyson, the captain of the Youth League Grand Finalists is in Sydney this week after being invited to train and trial with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Daniel will participate in a number of challenging training sessions and gain the experience of working within a professional National Rugby League Club. He will then pull on the foundation clubs famous strip to represent their S.G. Ball (u18’s) team in a trial against the Cronulla Sharks at Erskineville Oval on Friday night.

Adding to the Goannas development success, both Alec Abbott and Daniel Harveyson have been named in Western Rams Development Academy squad alongside a number of players from across the region. They will have the opportunity to play against the Newcastle Knights S.G. Ball squad on the 31st of January 2015 in Mudgee. Alec was awarded the Best and Fairest player of the Youth League team this year.
During the 2014 season the Grenfell Goannas Youth League side had 8 players represented in the Woodbridge Cup under 18’s team against Group 6 in Camden. These players were; Daniel Harveyson, Alec Abbott, Ben Abbott, Michael Millar, Joshua Edwards, Sean King, Ty Ashe and Nicholas Collett. The Woodbridge Cup team captained by Michael Millar put on a dominate performance, winning 44-6. First Graders Steven Dinham, Steve Ingram and Mana Aditagane along with Taya Frost, Holly Bowerman, and Prue Hancock also represented the Woodbridge Cup in First Grade and League Tag respectively.
With the 2015 season around the corner the Grenfell Goannas Senior Rugby League Club are excited to announce the appointment of the following coaches:
