I am extremely proud of the projects that have been completed during my current term as a Councillor for the Weddin Shire and excited for future projects that are in the planning stage. All of these projects and funding have been due to the collaborative effort between all of the Councillors, General Manager and Staff of the Weddin Shire Council, as well as Mr Steven Sykes who was responsible for securing a great deal of funding to finance many of our major projects.
If re-elected I will continue to work towards fostering an environment where Council staff, Directors, Councillors and Contractors feel at ease and safe so as to nurture a productive and respectful workplace.
Through Council I will continue to work on some very exciting tourism projects that are currently in the planning stage. Promoting our Wellbeing Plan which proposes to improve aged care infrastructure. Work towards improving infrastructure not only in Grenfell but also the surrounding villages to promote prosperity and growth.
During this term I was a Council Delegate to Central Tablelands Water and am extremely proud of the work that we have done to secure water for our Shire well into the future, this includes the completion of Trunk Main K, which is the main water supply to Grenfell from Gooloogong. Installation of a pumping station at Woodstock, so that the water sharing agreement with Cowra Shire can be bi-directional, which gives Central Tablelands Water access to the Lachlan River. One of our main drought mitigation projects at the moment is the future augmentation of Lake Rowlands, this project is in the final strategic business stage of planning, this will almost double the capacity of water available to Central Tablelands Water. We have also installed two fast filling stations, one at Grenfell and the other at Quandialla, which will be beneficial during drought and fire danger season.
I would personally like to acknowledge Jan Parlett, Phillip Diprose, Paul Best and Steve O'Byrne for the professional manner in which they have conducted themselves during a very challenging term.
I wish all the candidates the best of luck for the elections.
I would appreciate your vote on Saturday.
