Bruce Harpley's Metallica Man ($1.40) was sent to the mobile start a short favourite by supporters but failed to fire a shot, finishing at the tail of the field.
Hurrikane Dude and the Amanda Turnbull trained Lady Angelina ($4.80) shared the spoils in the event which produced a blanket finish, the Blake Micallef driven Cocofollownoone ($21) finishing just a half next back in third place.
In his debut season Hurrikane Dude has now recorded three wins from 11 career starts, two of those wins coming at Young and the other at the Parkes circuit.
Raced by Mark Hewitt in partnership with the gelding's breeder Suzanne Nicholls, Hurrikane Dude has also recorded four minor placings.
Hewitt drove a patient race and eased Hurrikane Dude out of an early battle for ascendency between Lady Angelina and Metallica Man, racing three back one wide as the first two swapped positions on multiple occasions.
When the bell sounded Hewitt sent his charge to the outside of Metallica Man before going straight on by with Lady Angelina closing late to grab a share of the first place spoils.
The feature event, the Cherry Cup, was taken out by the John Downey trained and driven Goodtime Junior.
