WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: Congratulations to Ron and Eunice Huckel who celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Sunday.

Ron and Eunice were married in the Uniting Church on October 17 1959 with the Rev Clyde Nicholson officiating.
Euncice's cousins Margaret Buttle and Essie Hackney were her bridesmaids, whilst Barry Knight and Ian Huckel were Ron's attendants.
They purchased the property "Braeside" in 1961 at Pullabooka, where the farmed and ran a mail run for forty six years. Pullabooka-Piney Range 1961, amalgamated with Caragabal -Piney Range in 1982. The run being three days a week for 236 kms round trip.
They were blessed with a family of four, Steven, Debbie, Greg and Darren and have nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. They sold the farm and moved to Grenfell in 2008.
The Huckels have a magnificent garden. Each year they have entered their garden in the in the Open Gardens in Grenfell and were disappointed that owing to Covid restriction they were cancelled once again.
Ron told me that Eunice was responsible for the beautiful garden, whilst he was very proud of his special "Veggie Patch"
LOUD SHIRT DAY: In conjunction with Grenfell Preschool and Long Daycare Centre, South-West Fuel will be supporting LOUD SHIRT DAY, tomorrow, Friday October 22. This is a fund-raiser to raise money and awareness for hearing loss in children.

LIONS MEETING: The Grenfell Lions Club held their meeting on Sunday afternoon October 17 at 5pm at the Lions' Park at the Grenfell Railway Station.
It was a great opportunity for those members who were unable to come out at night.
It was great to see Life Member Lion Rodney Harveryson and LL Julie and PDG Life Member John Skelton and LL Diane in attendance. Both members have not been enjoying the best of health of late.
Earlier in the week, members were concerned that the meeting may have to be moved owing to the weather conditions, but nature was on their side and a glorious Sunday afternoon was enjoyed.
Members were advised that owing to Covid restrictions the 201N4 District Convention which was to be held at the end of the month in Young was postponed till early 2022. The Convention was cancelled this time last year as well.
A decision on the Combined Service Clubs' Christmas Carnival will be made as soon as Covid restriction are advised.
Members have been busy mowing, whipper snipping and preparing garden beds around the station.
Lions Christmas Cakes, Single Serve Cakes and Christmas Puddings have arrived and will be available in stores in Grenfell shortly. The Club will also conduct a Christmas Cake stall in Main Street shortly.
CWA SOUTH WEST GROUP: CWA South West Group will be celebrating their 90th birthday on Saturday November 6 at Clifton House at Maimuru/Young. Cost $40.

Contours: Interpretations of Australian Landscapes is a collaborative exploration of land and place by Jennie and Jess Forster. The exhibition presents subjective, observational and conceptual interpretations of the natural environment through painting, drawing, textiles and mixed media. Mother and Daughter together explore their personal and shared experiences of the topography, waterways, bushland and human interventions within our wide brown land.

SINCERE SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to Gwen nee Hancock and family on the passing of her dearly loved husband and their father, former resident Robert "Bob" Clarke of Parkes who passed away last Thursday.
Owing to covid restrictions, a private family service was held in Parkes at 11am yesterday.
