On the same day Murrumbidgee Local Health District confirmed there was a further three cases reported for Young until 8pm on Sunday evening bringing the total number of cases to seven.
WNSWLHD Chief Executive Scott McLachlan said the Cowra case is in isolation with their household contacts outside of the Cowra township, however has been identified as likely being infectious in the community.
"Investigations and contact tracing are ongoing to formally identify all close or casual contacts and venues of concern," Mr McLachlan said.
"I urge the community to keep a close eye on the venues of concern available on the NSW Health website and if you are contacted by NSW Health or identified as a close or casual contact, to follow the advice you are given.
"We have determined the confirmed case is unlikely to be the source of recent virus fragments detected in sewage samples taken from Cowra.
"This is further proof that COVID-19 is still creeping around our communities, even those which haven't previously been impacted."
Meanwhile in Young, MLHD also confirmed on Sunday evening there were three new positive results two of which are household contacts, bringing the total number of cases in Young to seven.
