Mr McCormack visited work that has been funded by grants from the Federal Government including projects in part funded by the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program.
"The Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program is providing local jobs and delivering vital infrastructure through local councils - Weddin Council knows where this money is best spent in the Weddin Shire community," Mr McCormack said.
Mr McCormack expressed how impressed he was with the work that has already been commenced or finished by local community groups and Council.
"I am pleased to see the projects on the Council's list well under way, including the main street upgrade, and I look forward to seeing them when they are completed," he said.
"It was also pleasing to see the infrastructure delivered under the Drought Communities Program, including a new toilet block for the Grenfell Racecourse, resurfacing courts at the Country Club Tennis Centre and fencing for the West Street dog off-leash area."
Mr McCormack believes the funding is all about helping the Weddin Shire economy bounce back from both the drought and pandemic.
"This is all about supporting the resilience of local economies by delivering even more jobs to help communities bounce back from the drought and COVID-19," he said.
"A broader range of projects will now be eligible for funding under Phase Three of the LRCI, enabling local governments to pursue larger, more complex developments to deliver even greater benefits for their communities.
"Every single job we support makes a huge difference in our regions, now and as we build our way out of the pandemic."
The current Local Roads and Community Infrastructure projects in Weddin Shire are:
- Back Piney Range Road Grenfell - culvert replacement
- Hancock Flinns Road Grenfell - culvert replacement
- Weddin Shire Tourism Gateway Signage project
- Arramagong Road Culvert Replacement
- Main Street Upgrade
